Snow Day

I don't know why, in my 4yrs of living here, it never occurred to me that NY would (or could) call a "Snow Day". Until today when all the schools, and some businesses, closed their doors to children and customers and lit their fireplaces instead.

It seems so West Coast in the sense that they don't know what to do with white fluffy stuff falling from the sky, and so as soon as it does (even if it doesn't stick) EVERYTHING shuts down.
I used to dream of those days in grade school. It was like a sneak attack Holiday! Surprise!

Turns out even New Yorkers need an impromptu day off now and then. A Snow Day if you will.
