Feel the Love

My Best New York Friend, Karley (aka Baby Mama), and her hub-of-love, Al (aka Big Papa), celebrated ONE WHOLE YEAR OF MARRIAGE on June 27th!
I have had this post saved in my blog since May, yet somehow I couldn't manage to post it on time. It's the thought that counts, right?! I did get texts out to both of them that day, so I'm not a complete slacker. Thank you.

In case you're new or unclear as to how much I LOVE these people, let me gush....

I've known Karley since 2007. We bonded in church. She was the hottest most unconventional girl in the room, (aside from me of course ;P ) and after bonding over quirks and a knack for going against the grain, we became good friends before I moved to Mexico and very close friends upon my return.

I remember the restaurant/lounge I met her future hubster in (loved him immediately), and the street corner I was on the day she told me she was knocked up (I mean, joyfully with child). After 3yrs of dating and talking marriage, they had a private and beautiful wedding ceremony alone in Central Park. Then, a bouncing (né leaping and bounding) baby boy followed soon after! I hear the first year is the hardest (can't wait to test that theory!) and I am SO impressed and encouraged by everything they have done together to make it through.

Over the past year it has been my very, very, very great honor to be the doting (often obsessive) Aunt to their ADORABLE son Xander. Posting monthly reports on how much I love him is really the least I can do. These wonderful people have welcomed me into their lives and home (it has nothing to do with my bribes to the doorwoman) and become shining stars in my life.
Karley has the biggest heart (nestled underneath a rockin' bod) and best laugh of anyone I have ever known. She always tells the truth (wrapped in a sarcastic but positive bow if she knows it's going to hurt a little), makes a mouth watering spinach salad (and I hate salad), knows tricks to trades you didn't even know existed, dedicates herself 100% to being the best wife and mother she knows how to be (home made dinner on the table, house picked up, remote control surrendered), and will STILL be there for 3am phone calls, ready with re-assuring words to dry tears. She's simply wonderful and to say I love her doesn't feel adequate enough.

Al is kind, understanding, and a big tall glass of fun. Day trips, picnics in Central Park, Football Games at Thanksgiving (against his wife), perfectly planned surprise parties (for his wife), and the unstoppable grin on his face show how much he adores his family. The fact that he lets me come over whenever I want also earns him bonus points. ;)

Congratulations Guys! Wishing you many more years of happiness. You're the BEST!
XOXO
