I challenge her in ways she otherwise wouldn't be, because I like to think outside the dye bottle. She's an excellent stylist and colorist and together we rock my locks.
Since we met, I've been begging her to let me splash some of the rainbow into my hair. I got her to skeptically do dark purple peek-a-boo low-lights last summer. She ended up loving the outcome (as did I) and said she would never doubt my creative desires again. That was until I showed up at her salon yesterday with some Manic Panic color schemes.
"Purple Haze"--vibrant purple--and "Red Passion".
Red Passion is technically fuchsia , which is technically pink, which is a color I technically despise. However, it's the only color that off sets purple the best and, in the name of multi-colored tresses, it was a sacrifice I was willing to make. As long as pink isn't in the title, it's technically not, right? ;)
The norm at the salon now is that when I walk in and tell Dessi what I see in my head, for my head, everyone there (clients and clippers alike) comes over to our station to listen and observe.
One "are you sure?" and she was on board.
I had the vision, she had the tools, and 2 1/2hrs later (with the ENTIRE salon gathered around) we pulled off the newest Affair of my Hair.
I LOVE IT!!!!!
