Yes, I know, how very Charlotte's Web of me, but they actually make great household pets. Just here me out. They're smart, they're cute, they're actually quite clean, they respond to commands, they don't have fur so they don't agitate people with fur / dander allergies (like me), they can hunt for treasure (truffles anyone? lost socks?), they like going for walks (pig-on-a-leash-in-Central Park alert!), they're patient, gentle, and they enjoy learning new behaviors (like fetching the newspaper on a Sunday morning) and doing tasks (like mopping with their hooves--a whole new level of Swiffer).
Spring will be here soon (I'm counting down!) and I think adding a pig to my family of one would be an excellent way to welcome the new season, don't you?!
I won't be quite as outwardly enthusiastic as this....
But I will most definitely want to shout my joy from the rooftops if I got something as ADORABLE as this!
I'd get on a bike just like this (and Tom too) and shout loud and proud for my pig! Then we'd roll down this beautiful hill together and he'd eat grass while I set up a picnic. Doesn't that sound dreamy?!
Despite the fact that zoning in NYC states that you cannot have livestock as pets (of course I checked, and of course I considered petitioning; with these pictures), I'm filing this wish away for brighter days of big backyards and picket fences to come...I'd get on a bike just like this (and Tom too) and shout loud and proud for my pig! Then we'd roll down this beautiful hill together and he'd eat grass while I set up a picnic. Doesn't that sound dreamy?!
